Officially authorised by Pan Am, this stunning walnut veneered Cocktail Cabinet has been extensively restored and redesigned with a travel theme, incorporating the iconic Pan Am branding - synonymous with mid-20th Century pop culture - vintage Ordnance Survey maps, a gold, inset scale diecast replica Pan Am Boeing 747 ‘Clipper’ model aeroplane, and solid brass knurled handles. For aviation-lovers, travellers, explorers, fans of popular culture, mid-20th century design aficionados and home interior stylists with unique, eclectic tastes everywhere, this statement piece of furniture serves equally as a piece of usable art. Another Eclectica Projects creation, direct from our North Yorkshire-based studio, created with the approval of Pan Am Brands Licensing (® Pan American World Airways, LLC. Used under authorization).

• Completely stripped of its original lacquered finish, the exterior of the cabinet has been repaired, sanded, and nourished with an application of a hard-wearing wax oil affording ongoing protection from daily usage. The Pan Am livery has been created using traditional lettering techniques with brass enamel paint and ‘gold’ wax oil highlighting the text and sphere/meridian lines. Rising from the sphere, a gold-painted official diecast Pan Am Boeing 747 jet sits upon a discreet timber platform which is inset and adhered in place to the drop-down cabinet door. Retrofitted ‘knurled’ solid brass handles by Dowsing & Reynolds mimic cockpit flight controls.

• Internally, vintage Ordnance Survey maps are decoupaged and sealed to the sides and back of the lower cabinet - the cool greys, greens, blues, and creams of the maps creating the perfect mid-century colour palette. Newly cut safety glass added to the base together with a new 6mm safety glass shelf are all atmospherically lit by a discreetly mounted multifunctional (on/off/motion-sensing) LED light. With already ample space for storage of your drink collection, this is further enhanced with the illusion created by the mirror and glass combination.

• The cocktail serving section above features the same vintage Ordnance Survey map lining the sides, flip-top and drop-down surfaces, coupled with a newly cut glass protector, and original gold-gild patterned mirror back and mirrored base. The original rewired contact-switched light and juicer are included, with complimenting gold cocktail spikes, with all metal hardware re-finished in gold.

  Condition: all of the furniture in our Store is vintage or antique and has enjoyed a previous life. Whilst professionally refinished/restored, some minor or discreet signs of wear may remain, or other age-related indicators such as pitting to original metalwork, or ghosting to mirrored sections may be present. The vintage maps used here bear some signs of their decades of use, with worn/discoloured fold marks and other discreet signs of wear. Such minor imperfections only serve to add to the provenance and history of the pieces but should you have any concerns about any aspect of condition, feel free to contact me here and I’ll be only too happy to help.
