British furniture maker, Jentique, is renowned for its quality construction and exciting designs based on Danish furniture of the mid-20th century period. Records suggest that the company played second fiddle to those monoliths of British furniture construction throughout the 1960’s; Ercol and G Plan, yet with the passage of time, Jentique’s legacy has been celebrated by today's mid-century lovers with an eye for quality design and, as result, has become highly sought after.

This Jentique sideboard fuses a selection of exotic woods - namely tola, rosewood, and teak - with a stunning design that features an inlaid chevron motif, space-saving sliding doors, brass hardware, and attractive black legs. Do take a look at the ‘before’ shot included here; to fully appreciate the extent of the transformation. The result is a multifunctional piece of exquisite MCM furniture that works perfectly as a sideboard, media unit, cocktail cabinet, or turntable stand with LP storage:

• Once masked behind layers and layers of factory-applied varnish and decades worth of furniture polish, the wonderful selection of woodgrains can now breathe again having been completely stripped and refinished with a nourishing Osmo wax oil, whilst the tired, ebonised legs have been treated to a slightly glossy enamel paint job. All original hardware has been removed, cleaned up, polished/resprayed, and refitted.

• Whilst the outside has been sympathetically refinished, internally the cabinet has been completely redesigned; slide open the doors and you’re met with a feast of black and gold, featuring a contemporary, angular, chevroned lining paper that beautifully compliments the central door design. The centre cabinet has been modified to work as a drinks cabinet, with a glazed surface protector shielding the decoupaged paper, and a dimmable, motion-sensing LED light discreetly fitted to the top of the cabinet, providing a warm glow when the cabinet is open. The side cabinets, also lined with that same stunning geometric paper, have contrasting solid wood shelves affording a storage option for media hardware, glassware, or similar.

• Above are three good sized drawers, the central drawer being lined with black leatherette and cutlery dividers finished in the same paper as the cabinets beneath.

Condition: all of the furniture in our Store is vintage or antique and has enjoyed a previous life. Whilst professionally refinished/restored, some minor or discreet signs of wear may remain, or other age-related indicators such as pitting to original metalwork, or ghosting to mirrored sections may be present.
